Fort Jackson Helps to Raise Money For Charities

By Susanne Kappler (Fort Jackson Leader)

Midlands Area Combined Federal Campaign managed to raise 1.1 million dollars to go to local, national and international charities. Out of that number Fort Jackson made a contribution of $500,000 dollars. The base’s commanding general, Maj. Gen. James Milano, originally had his sights set on contributing $750,000 dollars. Even though they came up a bit short he was still proud of what Fort Jackson’s Combined Federal Campaign was able to accomplish. The Campaign closed on Monday with a luncheon to recognize the contribution efforts of the many organizations and federal employees of the Midlands who helped out.
